Most sessions are customized and facilitated by Carmen Pearson-Carmen brings all participants her education, enthusiasm and experiences from a varied background. This background includes her formal education, with a PhD in English, an MBA and a BSc in Advertising; years of classroom experience in post-secondary institutions teaching composition, creative writing, technical and business writing, and literature; and a varied publication record that includes scholarly texts and creative pieces published by both academic and popular presses including University of New England Press, University of Nebraska Press, Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and the Environment , South Dakota Review and Country Living , etc. Her pieces have been honoured by a number of awards, including the 2008 Jon Whyte Alberta Literary Award for creative non-fiction. Her other entrepreneurial endeavours have included operating a riding school, children’s summer camps, a resort, and a farm.
